Location: Baakleen – Lebanon
In Lebanese contexts, approaching and re-conceptualizing public-private divides is a hard task for architects. In Baakleen similar to many Lebanese culture, the residents consider streets as their semi-public pace. Our mission is to offer them a public space within the project as the main infrastructural element where they feel belonging to. This space is designed inward and enclosed via a set of commercial spaces where the main promenade takes place. Beside the horizontal experience, a set of vertical circulation connects all the floors together with several piazzas via ramps.
