Location: Aley – Lebanon
As Aley vernacular architecture represents history and translates stories of old generations memories and identities, today a new modern taste is emerged reflecting the new generations perceptions and styles. The project plays the role of mediator between what is old and new; the new combination follows the trending contemporary vision yet respects the old basics, by answering the question of identity in modern language. The building is the story of its residents reflecting two identities: the children living in Canada and the father living in Kuwait. They are expressed boldly like the timeline of architecture in Lebanon, where styles and movements identities show no chronological development.
