Building an environmental friendly luxurious castle in the desert is a huge challenge. Throughout history castles in deserts or hot areas depended on natural voids. From Qaser al-hayr to Qaser al-Hambra, voids are source of light and fresh breeze. Wherever there are voids you will find the oasis. They are source of life, shades, water and trees forming a space for human gatherings.

In the proposed castle design the functions are distributed around voids, where the layering complexity of intermediate connections are expressed through bridges having trees growing in these voids.
